Season 7 of Dexter is well underway, and it has so far blown the last season out of the water. (This weeks episode was titles "swim deep..." puns.) Dexter and Deb teamed up like some kind of weird familial Batman and Robin and threw Isaac's (Russian?) ass in jail for a long time. I have a feeling he isn't going to stay in jail for too long, but we will see. He was basically a drug dealing terminator (as Deb pointed out) in one scene where he took on a pseudo ambush from 4 Colombians and came out unscathed if not for a lil paper cut on his forearm and a headache. The episode really caked on the drama with Laguarda starting to actually put 1+1 together as a detective, and Quinn turning into the slimy slimer of a cop that he previously was. Deb bitch slapped Laguarda's attempts to nab Dexter, and there was a slow motion puppy dog eyed scene where Deb lied to my home boi Angel. Besides all of that the highlight of the episode for me was when Dexter in so many words, and through his neglecting to tell Deb about evidence found at the crime scene, picked his next victim... that annoying blonde bimbo! Good job Dexter, cut that hoe up! I'm actually excited after every week for the next episode. I don't know what happened between this season or last, but I hope the writing staff keeps it up.
The season so far has been a solid 3.75 Buscemis, and this episode hasn't strayed from that trend. In leu of a little bit of predictability I will give this week's chunk of season 7 a solid 3.5.
Keeping with the dark undertones of Dexter as a series, listen to a little bit of the most terrifying sounds known to man. I don't know why, but this song legitimately makes me feel scared. I don't know why, but I wet myself in fear every time I listen to this. My goose-pimples have goose-pimples. Right around 2:36 where the woman starts to sing... holy hell, terrifying.
For Halloween I'm just going to hang a pair of speakers off my shoulders and play this song. Boom! Scariest costume award, I'll take that $5 gift certificate to Rizzo's Pizza straight to the bank!
